PLATINUM’d: New section

Welp. it’s been a long time since my latest post here (almost to the point I had to clean all the dust and spiderweb around the dashboard), so after getting my 11th platinum trophy this morning (and by morning I mean 1AM), I decided to add a new section to the blog and keep it alive a bit longer: PLATINUM’d.

PLATINUM’d will cover my point of view of a game I’ve completed (trophy wise, and sometimes 100%), sort of like a review and random aspects of it (trophy wise). And because why not, a trophy/achievement roadmap (since it works the same way for multi-platform games, such as Assassin’s Creed).

Of course, there are other games that don’t qualify for a platinum trophy, but they are displayed as 100%, like JOURNEY or inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood. Those will be added as well (otherwise I’ll be wasting my cash on games just for platinum trophies and keeping this blog alive heh).

So far, the list includes:

  • Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
  • Assassin’s Creed 3
  • God of War 3
  • inFAMOUS
  • inFAMOUS 2
  • inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood
  • Saints Row: The Third
  • Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
  • Sly 2: Band of Thieves
  • Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
  • Sly Minigames (well… yeah, it’s a 100%)
  • Tekken Revolution
  • Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
  • Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

There are some upcoming platinum trophies on the way, like Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, Killzone 2/3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, among others. But, as the title says, I must obtain the plat/100% on those games before giving my review.

Stay tuned.

Seriously. This year has been critical for most of Pay2Play games out there, since they’re adapting to the F2P systems, like the eastern MMO market.

We’ve seen games like Champions Online, DCUO, LOTRO, D&D, Age of Conan and City of Heroes, to name a few, that moved from the monthly subscription model to the Free to Play + Freemium one.

Sure, they have different models, like D&D, where you need to buy “dungeon packs” if you’re not a subscriber user, and like LOTRO, where you purchase region packs to unlock all the quests inside those maps.

Now, we have to add Lineage 2 to the Free2Play list. One of the oldest NCSoft games, next to Guild Wars (since the original Lineage servers were closed last june), will jump the subscription wall and enjoy freedom in the near future.

Portal 2 OST disc 2 now available!

It’s been a while since I wrote something, but lot of stuff has happened. Gonna try to get back on road starting today.

And just noticed that the Portal 2 OST disc 2 is now available for download, along with some Android (MP3)/iPhone ringtones as well. The OST continues the BGM compilation starting on GLaDOS final test chambers, the escape and the old Aperture Laboratories (including the combustible lemons. Not the speech. The background song).

No ETA for disc 3, but seems it’ll feature the escape from the underground facilities, Wheatley’s test chambers, that part where he (tries to) kill you, the final showdown, “Cara mia” and the credits song.

You can download both disc 1 and 2 from the Official Portal 2 OST website.

We’ve been enjoying Big Bang since it was announced on december and getting more hyped with every update since then (new exp curve, whole new race, new areas and improvements). Now it’s time to wreak some havoc and add a bit of “Chaos” on top of it.

Yes. Maplestory has announced the newest game update: Chaos . Funny to say, but as spadow said, GMS is rushing to be as close to KMS in terms of updates as possible.

Right now, Nexon is doing a poll to choose which name we’ll give to the new update. And by looking at the numbers, it’ll be the same thing that happened with Big Bang (I mean, seriously. Why don’t we call each update by their original name on every server?)

So yeah, I’m getting dragged away from Maplestory and now testing Forsaken World’s final CBT, since I finally (and everyone who applied and didn’t apply(?)) got invited.

So far, the game reminds me a LOT of Jade Dynasty (I kinda miss my lv 102 non-ascended Vim) and Battle of the Immortals (yes, all of them are Perfect World Entertainment games) in both quest system and gameplay. True, the game offers auto-route to almost any part of the game, making it easier for botters (there are like 4 lv 60 already, and of them are botters. Highest lv so far is 37), but it’s a questfest thing, so it’ll take a LOT of time to get some levels while grinding. Here are my first impressions, though I will write more than one entry to explain the game itself.U (more…)

Training exercise

Well, since I got my new PC chassis, I decided to “train” myself in terms of hardware build, moving my current PC pieces to the new case.

After almost 4 hours of struggle between cable management (without using zip ties, since it’s not the final build) and dust allergy, I can say mission successful.

UPDATE: Picture, as promised:

NOTE: The little flash on the top is the power LED. Awesome!

Now while we wait for the Big Bang patch maintenance, Nexon has offered the details about the new Big Bang events.
